On these special nights all are welcomed to view the exhibitions while enjoying the great music presented by our talented Fort Hayes students and our talented staff and alumni musicians! The Shot Tower Gallery 2016- 2017 Exhibitions 

Transitions, A Millworks Studios Group Show      September 6 – October 21 Reception: September 16  5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Twenty-eight artists from the Millworks Art Studios will focus on themes of Change and Social Transformations.

Colloquy       November 7 – December 16 Reception: November 17 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

This exhibition will represent a small cross section of the latest innovations in the field ceramics from two of Ohio’s top ranked ceramics programs. It includes functional and sculptural objects as well as installation work from over 20 artists.

Image Ohio 17       January 17 – February 24 (January 16 – MLK Day)

January 27 – Reception 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Sbort North Gallery District’s Roy G Biv Gallery presents Image Ohio, the best of Ohio artists photography, video and new media each year at the Shot Tower Gallery.

Central Ohio Watercolor Society Spring Exhibition      March 6 – April 7 

April 16 – Reception 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The Central Ohio Watercolor Society was founded in 1964 and is the preeminent transparent watercolor society in the region. Watercolor artists must be juried into the society and its members are award winning artists with regional and national reputations. Artists will be working each day in the gallery to present various watercolor techniques and processes.

Fort Hayes 35th Annual Senior Show                 May 8 – 26 

Reception – May 17 tba

This exhibition presents the portfolio work of our graduating seniors in the Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center’s Career Center Portfolio, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Video Production and the Fort Hayes High School Art Classes. Curated by the Gallery Interns.

The Shot Tower Gallery, founded in 1979, as part of the School for the Visual Arts Program at Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center,  is one of the longest running galleries in Central Ohio. We present six exhibitions per year and benefit from our established partnerships with local and national artists, organizations, university art departments, arts organizations and local and national galleries. Exhibits are designed around the goals of; interdisciplinary connections, celebration of cultural diversity, presenting a range of aesthetic artistic approaches and showcasing the work of established and emerging artists. The gallery is used as teaching lab on our arts campus our internship program teaches students the day-to-day operations of galleries and museums.

To schedule a group tour or visit send a note or call gallery director Teresa Weidenbusch with the request date, number of students and if there is any special focus. Gallery interns are available to introduce the exhibit and/or tour students through the work if arranged ahead of time. If you are planning a group visit please discuss Museum and Gallery Etiquette/Rules prior to your visit.

  1. Do not touch
  2. No Backpacks on backs. Please park them in the bins by the gallery door or carry in front if walking through the gallery to the office.
  3. No food or drinks except for artist receptions.
  4. Keep noise down – we have public visitors
  5. Behave in a way to always protect the artwork.
  6. If you are on tour – STAY with your gallery docent/guide.
