Medical Laboratory Technician
- Gain the skills necessary to perform diagnostic procedures in the health care setting, such as chemical analysis of body fluids, classification of blood cells, identification of disease producing microorganisms and the selection of compatible donor blood for transfusion.
- Students learn key principles of professional client care, confidentiality, and the team approach to patient care.
- Successful students may complete the requirements for the Medical Laboratory Technician Associate Degree at CSCC in a time-shortened program. College credit available.
Eligible students may take the exam for Phlebotomy certification
HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT:
1st year – 1 Science, 1 Technology, 1 Elective
2nd year – 3 Elective

Columbus State Community College: Up to 14.5 Semester Hours
POSSIBLE CAREER PATHS:
Phlebotomist or Medical Laboratory Assistant
2-4 years of College, Medical Laboratory Technician, Histologist, or Cytologist
Medical School or PhD. Program to become a Pathologist
