  • Develop skills in several types of welding and cutting, brazing, blueprint reading, fabrication and manufacturing.
  • Training may lead to job placement in senior year.
  • Industry certification opportunities and college credit available

CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES:

National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) – Core and Welding Levels 1 and 2, D1.5 Welding Certification, OSHA 1- Hour Card, First Aid and CPR, Forklift

HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT:

1st year – 1 Technology, 2 Elective

2nd year – 3 Elective

COLLEGE PARTNERS/CREDITS EARNED:

Columbus State Community College:  Up to 3 Semester Hours

Ohio Technical College:  Up to 3 Semester Hours

Zane State University:  UP to 3 Semester Hours

POSSIBLE CAREER PATHS:

Immediate employment, Apprenticeship, 2 and 4 year college.  Jobs can include:  Welding Engineer, Certified Welding Inspector, Shop Forman/Supervisor, Teacher/Instructor, Iron Worker, Sheet Metal Worker, Pipe Fitter, Salesperson.
